Torque settings mains big ends head

 what are the torque settings for bearing mains,big ends and head cylinder bolts


BIG END, MAINS AND CYLINDER HEAD TORQUE SETTINGS FOR 2.4 LITRE JEEP CHEROKEE 2003 MODEL


  1. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown. Using the 4 step torque turn method, tighten according to the following values:
    • Step 1: All to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.)
    • Step 2: All to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.)
    • Step 3: All to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.)
CAUTION: Do not use a torque wrench for the following step.
Step 4: Turn an additional 1/4 turn

  • Step 5: Install and tighten bolts (1-10) in sequence shown, to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) .
  1. Tighten bolts (1-10) again to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) PLUS 1/4 turn in sequence shown.
  2. Install main bearing bedplate to engine block bolts (11-20), and torque each bolt to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) in sequence shown.

Tighten20 Nm (14.8 ft lb)
Crankshaft Toothed Belt Sprocket
Tighten90 Nm (66 ft lb) + 90°
Camshaft Sprocket
Tighten80 Nm (60 ft lb)



Main Bearing Cap
Tighten65 Nm (48 ft lb)

FLYWHEEL TORQUE
Torque60 Nm. (44 ft. lbs.) + 1/4 turn (90°) [1]
[1] Always replace bolts.

CYLINDER HEAD TIGHTENING TORQUE [1] :
1st sequence: 40 Nm (30 ft lb)
2nd sequence: 60 Nm (43 ft lb)
Final sequence: plus 1/2 turn (180°)

Tighten In Two Stages:
First Stage30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Second Stageturn an additional 90°(1/4 turn)
NOTE:
  • Oil threads and contact surfaces.
  • Tighten only to: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) when measuring radial (oil) clearance.
